Here are my five Lessons on How to Live Well With Less
Lesson 1: Make Do with as Little as Possible
You can live with less by a range of things that you do from making your meals from scratch to developing a capsule wardrobe, to getting your books and resources from the library to being creative at home. What can you grow in your garden? What can you really do without? –What have you not even used for a while? Start to become self-aware of what you really need.
Lesson 2 Pick hobbies and interests that do not cost much
Some hobbies and entertainment can really cost a lot like shopping, eating out, drinking in bars – Whilst others like gardening, reading, writing, painting or going dancing or walking in the countryside. These hobbies and interest do not cost that much to do. Or if you can spend your time visiting family and friends more often.
Lesson 3: Appreciate What You Have
Learn to be content with what you already have right now today. From your home to your health to the friends and family around you learn to be more mindful of the right now. It helps if you can master the art of contentment and appreciate what you already have. Look around today and really gain your own insights and self-awareness of what you have right now.
Lesson 4: Save for a Rainy Day
Saving for a rainy day really helps you with your own financial well-being. That is to say you never know what it going to happen in the future, therefore, having some savings to fall back on really helps you to feel secure in times of uncertainty. Spend money on things that are important to you, but be able to track every penny you spend and understand why you are spending it.
Lesson 5: Focus on the Big Picture
We all have worries or concerns that come with everyday living. But being able to focus on the bigger picture helps you to live a good life. So for every worry that you have started to think what is the bigger picture to this issue and how can I resolve this right now. That way you start to find solutions to any worries or issues you have.
Living well with less is a journey of self-discovery which comes from slowing down; being much more self-aware and thinking clearly about what you already have right now. What do you really need in life and really appreciating the world around you? It helps you to become much more in tune with yourself and hopefully, you can go on to live an inspiring life with less.
